It was broad daylight and Amaro was taking a stroll through Darashia's bazaar when the first vision engulfed him. A cold darkness gripped his heart with sharp claws. The hustle and bustle in front of him blurred and gave way to a bizarre mix of images rapidly flashing before his eyes. Numerous voices echoed through his mind.

Darashia. - A mysterious man. - Heed my warnings inhabitants of Tibia! - The shadow of a dreaded enemy. -*whispering* The wizard! - He needs to be stopped! – He is so close to gaining godlike power! - Too close!! - What can be done??? - Nothing? - But yes! - THE weapon, the forbidden weapon! - Once made by Z… - NO! Don't mention the dark one! - But the weapon was destroyed! He destroyed it himself!! - Yes, yes, but not completely. - Seven pieces. - Where are they? - They were given to his most ruthless followers. - The cruellest of all archdemons!! - So we are doomed. - Not yet! - They hid them deep down in the bowels of the earth. - But their minions, the guards… - They won't let us have them! - We won't even reach them! - No one has ever made it through the seven abodes of torment. - Not alone, you cannot do it alone! - So there is hope? - Maybe. - And if we make it... then what? - *evil laughter*

"My friend?" Omur's familiar voice pulled Amaro back into reality. "I have fresh samples of sand wasp honey, my friend. How many can I get you today?" The last image from the vision had burned itself into Amaro's mind and left him speechless for a few moments. He felt shivery and cold despite the blistering heat in Darashia.

Thais - the streets are empty - loud cheering echoes through the emptied alleys. Where is everybody...?

Your eyes are immediately drawn to a new sparkling banner. You walk closer to have a better look... the cheering gets louder while you approach. What is this? You take out your glasses and read: You see an arena banner.

Yes! This winter update will bring an Arena System to Tibia!
Please note that teaser information is always preliminary, and subject to change. Especially the later mentioned limits and timers are still in discussion. We hope for your feedback on the test server!

As a start, arenas can be found in Ankrahmun, Kazordoon, Thais, Edron, and Rathleton.
Each arena fight will be set up by one initiator. By talking to an NPC he picks a battle type and sets the details:

Type 1: Last Man Standing

    The initiator determines an entrance fee and how many players will fight.
    He is teleported into a waiting area, other players will follow him manually. The battle starts when enough players have arrived.
    All participants are teleported into the battle ground to fight against each other.
    The entrance fee will be deducted from the bank accounts of participants.
    The fight lasts until only one character is left.
    The winner gets all the money that was deducted from everybody in the beginning, the losers will have lost the money but nothing else.




Type 2: Team Deathmatch

    The initiator sets the entrance fee, the team sizes, and enters the character names for each team.
    The two teams will gather in the waiting area, each team in a separate room.
    When everybody on the team lists has arrived, all participants are teleported into the battle ground to fight.
    The entrance fee will be deducted from the bank accounts of participants.
    The fight lasts until only members from one team are still alive.
    The money that was deducted from everybody in the beginning will now be devided equally and automatically among all members of the winning team, regardless of whether they died during the fight or not. The members of the losing team will have lost the money but nothing else.
    Extra hint: In this mode, specific 1 vs 1 fights are possible. To duel your friend, just set the team size to 1 and enter your friend's character name on the opponent list at the NPC.

Extra information:

    There are time limits for fights and the waiting periods.
    After a fight, participants are blocked from fights for some time before they can battle again.
    There will be a limit for the entrance fee, too.
    During the waiting period, players can decide against participation by leaving the waiting area. The only way out of a battle, though, is either death, victory, or a battle time out.
    PvP features like friendly fire will match the PvP options of your game world type. However, all kills in an arena will be justified. An arena death does not count as a frag in guild wars, and the usual death penalty will not be applied in arena fights.
    Arena battles will be a premium feature.

Dev Q&A   With Krailos, the forthcoming winter update will introduce a new area that is waiting to be explored. To give you a glimpse on the ideas behind and the making of Krailos, Eudocia, one of Tibia’s game content designers, has shared some background information on the creation of this new area with us.

Landscape and History
Lainaus
Krailos is mainly a desert valley with sandstone formations that glow in luminous shades of red. The raging sea crushes against rugged shores in the west. In the east, the hot and dry climate has given life to huge cactus forests. Old ruins are scattered in the northern parts of Krailos. It is a picturesque, yet unyielding scenery.

Mysterious, treacherous, dangerous.

A sophisticated society once thrived in Krailos. The inhabitants of this vast land were known for their advanced architecture and philosophy. Maybe inspired by the intense hues of red and orange that Suon and Fafnar illuminate when they cross Krailos on their relentless chase, they worshipped both deities equally. Over time, though, the equilibrium shifted in favour of Fafnar and her fiery and destructive temper was adopted. In the end, the highly-developed republic fell victim to the immorality and unfaithfulness of its members.

New rulers rose from the ashes of this advanced culture. Brutal and ferocious, with little respect for the weak. Amidst the chaos, their great strength and formidable resilience helped them to seize the moment and break free from their chains of slavery.

And so it happened that the ogres became the new masters of Krailos.

Ogres are not really dumb. You can best describe them as simple-minded and straightforward. A good fight and a hearty meal are enough to keep an ogre entertained and alive so why bother with complex and boring topics such as politics or sustainability?

They are impulsive, quick to anger and the concept of subtlety is totally unknown to them. They thrive on conflict and prefer to settle things through some well-placed strikes and painful blows. And they do think that wooden clubs and heads fit together perfectly. Even more so if the club is adorned with spikes or studs.

Due to their formidable strength, their hunger for food and their lust for battle, ogres have developed decent hunting skills which they mainly use to hunt down clomps. These massive woolly creatures that roam the plains are an important resource for meat and fur.



Ogres: Communal Life

Lainaus
Krailos is a tribal nation which is divided into several different ogre tribes. A tribe is usually led by the toughest and strongest ogre of a group. While male ogres tend to be more ambitious here, it may also happen that a particularly violent and domineering female, an ogress, claims the title.

The chieftain is supported by a shaman, who is usually a renowned member of the tribe. If the shaman is female, the two are often, but not necessarily, a couple. The chieftain is responsible for all war matters and decisions about the hunt. Overt dominance struggles for leadership are rather uncommon in an ogre tribe. Still, occasional challenges of a chieftain's authority may happen. In order to climb up ranks, the elimination of competitors is considered a well-proven and time-saving way.

A shaman focuses on spiritual and social affairs of a tribe, which include rites of passage as well as annual rites concerning the seasons and certain weather phenomena. Moreover, ogres worship the Great Hunger, a spirit-like being that, according to ogre belief, will eat up the entire world if not fed regularly. Therefore, they often perform rites of sacrifice to feed this entity. These ceremonies usually take place if Great Hunger's stomach is rumbling (which may be known as earthquake in other parts of the Tibian world). Apart from that, ogres only care for the here-and-now.

While some ogres have retained a nomadic lifestyle, most ogres live in tents or huts in small villages. There is also one somewhat larger settlement. Goblins, dworcs or corym are often kept as slaves in cages. These creatures occasionally land up in Krailos' as stowaways aboard stranded ships.

No matter if settled or nomadic, wherever there is an ogre, at least one open fire pit will be close by. While meat in all its forms is an all-time ogre favourite, their culinary skills are debatable at best, abysmal at worst. This may be influenced by the fact that humans and even elves are known to have ended up in an ogre's cooking pot, and eventually, in his belly. Therefore, they are also referred to as "man-eaters". In addition, most ogres also have a sweet tooth. A tasty honey comb or a freshly baked cake may even cause them to flash a smile. Almost.

The different tribes are independent from each other and conflicts among two or more tribes occur frequently due to the ogres' belligerent nature. The drying of Krailos' scarce lakes and rivers is the biggest real threat to ogres at the moment. However, the tribes and their current chieftains are too obsessed with fighting each other to understand the devastating impact an increasing water scarcity may have on them.

Ogres tend to distrust strangers and avoid them in the best case. They consider foreigners a disturbance which may easily lead to outright hostility when they come face to face with them, especially in combination with an empty stomach.

Nevertheless, a single ogre tribe has shown some sort of interest in trade with foreigners lately. Who knows, they may even accept the help of bold strangers if it allows them to spend more time on their favourite activities instead of having to deal with decreasing water supplies, goblin revolts or preparations for Great Hunger's next feeding.

Where did the idea for the name Krailos come from?

It was effectively an onomatopoeic decision. We tried to imagine a word in ogre language, a word we thought ogres would use, something that could be associated with them. We wanted it to sound rather rough and a bit guttural on the one hand. But on the other hand it should not be too intricate.

Why ogres? What fascinated you about them so that you decided to add them to Tibia?

Ogres are a classic species in the fantasy genre, similar to elves or orcs. So far, they were unknown in the world of Tibia and we thought it would be a gain to make them part of our world. We liked the mixture of grim aspects (the ogres are brutal warriors and man-eaters) and rather funny elements such as the ogres’ liking for food, especially sweets.

What inspired you?

Concerning the environment, we were mainly inspired by images of huge cactus trees and the steppes in Africa, but also by the red rock formations of the Tatacoa Desert and the colourful waters of the Caño Cristales river in Colombia (even though we decided to change the water into salty sediments and incrustations). Concerning the ogre culture, we took an animistic and shamanic approach, creating a wild and primal tribal culture.

What were the biggest challenges you faced when designing Krailos?

The biggest challenge was to create a new race with primal and even brutal tendencies that is not too similar to Tibian orcs or trolls, for example. The ogres should be a distinct new race, not just a slightly modified copy of something else. On the other hand, it was challenging to design a completely new type of landscape for Krailos that could convey a unique feeling. We hope that Tibians will enjoy exploring both Krailos and the ogre culture.

urious to find our more about the upcoming winter update? The private test of the winter update has started and lots of new stuff is waiting to be tested.

For the private phase, tutors, senators, fansite representatives, former focus group members, former closed beta testers, and selected long-time players have been invited to join the test. More information can be found in the welcome thread on the test website. While only private testers may post on the test board, all players can read it.

Of course, there will also be a public test phase so stay tuned!

ould you like to start a character on a brand-new Optional PvP world? If so, we have good news for you:

We plan to set up two new Optional PvP worlds on Tuesday, November 17, in the course of the afternoon: Beneva (EU) and Veludera (US).

These worlds will be blocked for character world transfers for a significant amount of time. However, please note that depending on how their populations evolve, it may still be possible that these worlds will be opened for transfers or even be merged with other worlds at some point of time.

Initially, only premium accounts will be able to play on Beneva and Veludera.

fter three teasers that focused on new content, it is time to take a look at what the winter update has in store for you feature-wise. Let us start with two changes that are based on player proposals.

Immediate Skinning and Dusting

No need to wait 10 seconds anymore before you can skin or dust a monster!
After a monster has been slain, its owner and party members will be able to use an obsidian knife or a blessed wooden stake immediately on the corpse.
Important: As soon as you have skinned or dusted a monster corpse, it will change into its next state of decay and can be looted by all players.

Global Depot

Access all items that you have stored in a depot from every city!



Lainaus
    There will be 17 numbered depot boxes in your depot chest from the winter update on. You will be able to access all 17 boxes from every city.
    Overall, free accounts will be able store up to 2,000 items per character in those 17 boxes, while premium players will be able to store up to 10,000 items there. The contents of each of the 17 depot boxes count towards this item limit.
    Similar to your inbox, the contents of a depot box will be shown page by page and you can click through the pages.

How to find items in your depot directly after the update release?

    The depot chest of each city will turn into a numbered depot box; e.g. Carlin's depot chest will turn into box "II". So all items that are stored in your depot chest in Carlin can be found in this box after the update. We have provided a list of all city depots and the corresponding depot box numbers after the update here.
    With the release of the update, it may be possible that you exceed the overall number of items you are allowed to store in the global depot chest. If that is the case, you can only take items out of depot boxes but not put any new ones in until you do not exceed the maximum limit anymore. As soon as you take an item out of a box, the following items will move up

As part of this change, character world transfers will also be simplified with the release of the winter update:

    It will not be necessary anymore to move items to Travora: Your character's depot chest (17 depot boxes) as well as your character's inbox will automatically be moved to your new home world with all their contents. This also means that the current transfer limit of 1,000 items will be removed.
    We will also remove the item limit of 1 unit per character which currently applies to most items. So your character can take along as many units of an item as you possess.
    The island of Travora will be swallowed by the sea. Only a ship and a connected platform will be left over. This is where you have to logout from the winter update on if your character is ready to change worlds.

The Seven Abodes of Torment I
t was already dusk and Amaro was dozing off to one of Spectulus' rambling monologues about the decline of scientific research when the second vision crept into his thoughts like a stealthy predator. The voice of his friend faded away. A deafening silence reigned for a few moments. Amaro almost felt at ease when all of a sudden he heard his own voice in his ears while foggy images slowly seeped into his mind and kept replaying before his eyes.

The seven abodes of torment. So many obstacles in our way. Hordes of sinister creatures. Riddles. Enigmas. The merciless guards. They are waiting to rejoice in a flood of death.

Then the hazy images became crystal clear and his voice grew desperate.


To be consumed by flames is to be freed by a true purity. There is fire without light and there are flames without smoke. In this darkness of infernal FIRE, souls will be freed.

What you see is what you dread. Yet masters of DECEIT hide the real dangers in what you cannot see. Because where's the fun in the blatantly obvious, the well-trodden path, never odd or eveN?

Pestilence spreads its clammy fingers through the domain of Verminor and PLAGUE wafts through the air. The foolish will waste away.

In these forlorn depths of isolation and decay, DAMNATION feeds on the trepid and the weak. Yet a blossom may spring from even the darkest of pits. Alone... and without hope.

"They need to think fourth-dimensionally!!!" Spectulus had worked himself into frenzy with his tirade and slammed his fists on a table. Amaro snapped from his frozen state. "Why are you looking at me like a frightened cat, Amaro? Are my ideas too advanced? Am I too progressive??? How many more of their amateurish attempts do I have to endure?!!" Amaro shook his head in slow bewilderment and managed to whisper a weak "Three." He already dreaded the upcoming night for he knew which terrifying images were still lurking in the darkness.

The Seven Abodes of Torment II

t was well after midnight and Amaro restlessly tossed and turned in his bed when the third vision struck him like a bolt of lightning. With eyes wide open he was staring into a roaring blackness. After a few breathless seconds, images started to swirl around in his head and he heard a loud and clear voice as if someone was standing right next to him.


DESTRUCTION awaits you! Face the forces of Apocalypse in a dungeon crawling with the spawn of hell. Defeat them or face annihilation!

No escape. No hope. There is no other way than to descend deeper and deeper, into the heart of DESPAIR.

Beware of the grave's utter darkness! The shadow of UNDEATH will fall upon you.

"Leave me be!!!" The scream that had stuck in Amaro's throat finally came out full-force. - I cannot. Not yet. - Amaro flailed around with his arms. Someone WAS standing right next to him but it was too dark for Amaro to see who it was: "Utevo gran lux." Nothing happened. "By the gods, who are you? What do you want from me???" - You know who I am and what I want. You have not yet fulfilled your part of the agreement. - "What agreement are you talking of?" - We share our secrets with you. We allow you to reach unreachable places. We give you everything you need. In return, you tell them. You make them aware. You spread the word. So go on, let this be known… -

A sudden burst of light made Amaro wince and blink rapidly until his eyes adjusted. He recognised the familiar surroundings of his room. He was alone. Strange clothes had been placed on the end of his bed and a scroll full of handwritten notes was lying atop of them...

Access to dungeons and bosses

Teleports to each dungeon can be accessed via a hellish place that works as some sort of hub and which is crawling with monsters.
Each dungeon is filled with monsters. In the middle part of each dungeon, you have to overcome a special obstacle to advance. This may either be a mini boss or some sort of riddle.
Mini bosses can be fought by up to 5 players at the same time (teleport to mini boss via 5 tiles, 1 lever).
If you successfully complete this challenge (mini boss or riddle) you can proceed. Also, you can skip this special challenge from then on your way through the dungeon.
At the end of each dungeon you will reach the antechamber of the main boss room (where you have to fight the minion that guards this dungeon). A minion can be fought by up to 5 players at the same time (teleport to boss room via 5 tiles, 1 lever). Each boss fight has a time limit.
A player can fight each minion once every two days. This means: As soon as you have been teleported to the boss room of a dungeon via the antechamber, you have to wait 2 days before you can teleport to this boss room again. You can still fight against the minions in other dungeons, though.

Ferumbras' dungeon can be accessed after you have collected all seven pieces of the mysterious weapon from the seven dungeons. From then on, you can access Ferumbras' dungeon without having to beat all seven minions again.
Ferumbras' dungeon is also crawling with monsters. At the end of the dungeon you will reach the antechamber of his boss room. He can be fought by up to 15 players at the same time (teleport to boss room via 15 tiles, 1 lever). The boss fight has a time limit.
A player can fight the new Ferumbras once every 14 days.

Rewards

If you complete the main questline, you will be rewarded with the base rift warrior outfit and an achievement.
All minions and the new Ferumbras will have special loot consisting of new items and already existing items. Check the Tibia facebook page to get a glimpse on some of the new items that may be dropped.
Moreover, the minions and the new Ferumbras will drop silver tokens. You will be able to exchange tokens for certain items with NPC Cledwyn. He will offer a new piece of armor for every vocation and the rift warrior addons in exchange for a certain number of silver tokens. Silver tokens are part of a new token system which may be expanded in future updates.
The rift mount will be obtainable via a rare monster drop in the dungeons.

ast week, the test of the winter updated ended and thus, the release of the update is getting closer. In order to shorten the waiting time a bit, let us summarise some of the adjustments that we made based on player feedback.
Naturally, many bugs and issues were fixed and a lot of fine-tuning concerning monster and item stats took place during the test phase. Here are a few examples of what else was changed:

So what about THE hat? Will the new Ferumbras also drop it? Yes, but it will be rare. Once every 14 days a player can fight ascending Ferumbras and there is a small chance that Ferumbras' hat may drop for him.

We also adjusted some teleports in the new Ferumbras questline: Players will be teleported to the dungeon entrance after a fight against one of the seven minions instead of being teleported right back into a hungry monster mob. If you run low on supplies this gives you a chance to restock before entering the fray again.

Each of the five PvP arenas (Ankrahmun, Kazordoon, Thais, Edron, and Rathleton) received a unique battleground with different obstacles and floor tiles to make battles more challenging and interesting. Moreover, a spectator area was added right in the middle of the arena pit in Rathleton so spectators will be able to see the health bars and names of the fighters there. Also, the arena NPCs were moved to a separate room that allows a player to set up a fight without other players interfering in the set-up.

If you are eager to obtain the voodoo staff addon, hunting in Krailos may be a good choice since voodoo dolls were added to ogre shamans as a rare drop. Furthermore, the NPCs in Krailos were provided with ammunition, runes and postal items, and two achievements can now be obtained in Krailos.

We would like to thank all dedicated testers again who helped us to find bugs and to improve the contents of the winter update.

he waiting time is finally is over. The winter update 2015 has just been released.

In case you are caught by surprise and have missed the update teasers, as well as the information from the test server, let us summarise for you what is new in Tibia:

There is a new questline involving a huge fight against Ferumbras, the most evil wizard there is in Tibia. On your way to meet the master of evil, you and your mates have to pass
The Seven Abodes of Torment I
, dungeons inspired by the Ruthless Seven. There you will not only be confronted with monster mobs, but also with riddles and mini bosses. At the end of each dungeon you will have to face one of the strong minions of the Ruthless Seven.
You will hardly stand a chance against Ferumbras and his
Servants of Evil
by yourself. Up to 5 players can team up to fight the minions, up to 15 players for the master himself. Each minion can be fought once every two days per player, the new Ferumbras can be fought once every 14 days per player.

Apart from a new outfit, you can get special loot of the minions and the new Ferumbras. In addition, they will drop silver tokens, which can be exchanged for vocation-specific items and even the addons for the new outfit. A new mount, the rift mount, will also be obtainable via a rare monster drop in these dungeons.

Some other great changes that this update brought are, for example, Immediate Skinning and a Global Depot. You can now access all items that you have stored in a depot from every city and you do not have to stand around waiting for 10 seconds any longer before you can skin or dust a monster.

Character world transfers have also been simplified with the release of the winter update. Travora was swallowed by the sea. No need anymore to ship your items to this island. From now on, your character's depot chest, as well as his inbox are automatically moved to the new home world during a character world transfer. The item restriction of 1 unit per character, that was valid for many items was lifted, as well as the overall transfer limit of 1,000 items.

What else is new, you ask? You can now find
Pvp areas in Tibia's major cities. Prove your strength in two different battle types: the Last Man Standing, and the Team Deathmatch.

This is not all, yet. This winter update also contains a complete new hunting area with new monsters, new items and, of course, a new quest and missions.

Explore Krailos with its sandstone formations that glow in luminous shades of red. Beware, though, of the ugly and horrendous ogres, the masters of Krailos.

t is time again to help the good witches of the green claw swamp to brew a powerful mixture to prevent the invasion of the evil bane bringers. Are you up for the task?
12.01.-16.01.2016

The world event Bewitched will start tomorrow, January 12, after server save. Help the witches with the ingredients for their magical brewage, and protect their cauldron from the forces of destruction.
Gather enough ingredients and keep the cauldron boiling until January 16, server save, in order to succeed. A special book which you can find in the green claw swamp will provide you with further information on the event and your task.

In case of success, your entire game world will be rewarded with an experience bonus of 20%, and a slightly reduced death penalty for 10 days. In addition, by contributing to the event you can earn favour points which you can trade for potions with Minzy.

Foliohatuthan täällä on kaikilla päässä, koska Marsista on löydetty ihmisenkaltaisten olioiden rakentamia asumuksia, mutta NASA on "hukannu" kuvat sieltä, Armstrongin kuukävely tehtiin studiossa ja WTC:n iskujen takana on jenkkihallitus.

ith today's server save, we implemented a bunch of fixes, for example:
Teneshpar: Back in 2014, several incarnations in the world event Rise of Devovogra were toughened up. However, this adjustment made defeating Teneshpar exceedingly difficult for knights and paladins in the mini world change Devovorga's Essence. Due to the feedback we received on this matter, Teneshpar's hit points have been lowered considerably and its healing output as well as its experience points have been reverted to their former values.

Tending Gloothworms: We fixed an issue with gloothworm tubes that prevented players from completing the task Rake Away on some game worlds.

Secret Service (TBI): If you have retrieved the intelligence reports in mission 4, you can now proceed in the quest by talking to Chester even if you do not carry the documents with you.

Thieves Guild: In case of loss, Percybald will now provide you with another disguise kit in mission 4 if you use the keyword "lost disguise".

Explorer Society: If you have retrieved the dwarven brooch in mission 1, you can now proceed in the quest by talking to Uzgod even if you do not carry the brooch with you. If you have received the pickaxe from Uzgod, you can now proceed further in the quest by talking to Mortimer or Angus even if you do not carry the pickaxe with you.

Knight Outfit Helmet Addon: If you have retrieved the helmet of Ramsay the Reckless, you can now proceed in the quest by talking to Gregor even if you do not carry the helmet with you.

Grimvale: We fixed an issue that led to an inconsistency in the number of delivered Nightshades in the quest log.


If you cast a spell in a private message channel it is now also visible to the player you are writing to in this channel.

We fixed an issue that occasionally interfered with offline training and stamina regeneration in case of login errors.

We fixed an issue with guild wars that prevented opposing guilds from being able to fight each other if other guilds joined the war later on.
We also fixed some map bugs, textual inconsistencies and typos.
